Okay, we all know that there are certain necessities when
it comes to driving. You will need power (gas, electric, etc),
motor, steering wheel, and tires! Tires and wheels
go hand in hand, like peanut butter and jelly! You can go
without rims and tires, but why would you want to? Wheels
hide all those unsightly nuts and bolts and accessorize your
ride. Your vehicle will be more complete with a nice set of
the right tires combined with custom wheels.
Tires...where do I start? Besides providing a necessary
function, the tire can also look good. There are many different
versions of tire and wheel packages that include: 4x4, off-road,
white-wall, performance, industrial, and standard versions.
They come in many different models, depending on the maker.
They are all one shape...round! (Sorry) Sizes also vary, from,
12, 13, 14, 15, 16, 17, 18, 19, 20, 22, 24, 26, 28 & 30
inches.
Always be sure to put the proper size of tires and wheels
on your Chevy Corvette or Honda Civic SI for maximum performance
and safety.
Wheels...well, that's another story. You can have them factory
standard, after-market and even customized. There are rims
made up of chrome, aluminum, silver, stainless steel and even
plastic. (I wouldn't recommend the latter.) Colors can be
anything from hyper black to polished silver to having gold
accents, to match the exact color of your car, truck, van,
suv, or motorcycle! there are spinning wheels and wheels that
look like they are spinning when they aren't even moving!
There are sizes including 14 inches and go all the way up
to a big ole 24 inches. When it comes to customizing your
tires and wheels, there is nothing you can't do. (That you
can afford, anyway.)
Since the first car was produced, we have manipulated the
wheels and tires eventually designed covers..rims for them.
It is mainly for cosmetic purposes, but also serves safety,
performance and handling functions as well. Your new Chevrolet
Cavalier wouldn't move an inch without it's tires...and you
wouldn't want to drive an inch without the wheels to cover
up at least part of the tires! The less rubber seen, the better.
This is the key element in customizing your ride and making
it really unique.
There are many companies manufacturing after-market wheels
and tires. You will be able to find both in any budget range.
